Wallaby Walkabout Tours provide interpretive experiences that take in parts of Launceston's iconic Cataract Gorge and through the natural bushland of the adjoining Trevallyn Reserve. There is a focus on Aboriginal history and sites of cultural significance including seeing gathering and camping sites. As part of the tour you will take part in an ochre ceremony and shown bush foods and stone tools in the area. On the tour you will also discover of the importance of 'Country' to Aboriginal people and experience the bush with all your senses. This is a unique adventure made all the more attractive due to the close proximity to the city. No long drives or sitting on a bus for hours to get to a destination and then just experience for a short time. This tour will have you 'On-country' for the majority of time and finishes with a final walk in close proximity to the cascading waters that meander through the Gorge, ending in the beautiful First Basin where you can rest up with refreshments from the nearby Cafes. There is no other tour experience as unique and rewarding as this one in Tasmania.
