SUP Wilderness Adventures

SUP Wilderness Adventures uses inflatable stand up paddle boards (SUPs), to access people and places that others can't get to. Tours of the Gold Coast/ Northern NSW are led by an environmental scientist with extensive knowledge of the region, history and local attractions. Itineraries range from guided half day SUP tours of lagoons, rivers and lakes, to full-day trips. Weather and winds dictate if the tour involves paddling downriver through a tropical rain forest; stopping at freshwater billabongs for a dip. Or maybe a hinterland waterway where freshwater turtles gather, platypus play hide and seek, and koalas laze in the forks of stately gum trees overhead. Coastal rivers and lagoons, allow for island hopping at low tide, and the chance to paddle with dolphins and rays. Shady mangrove forests invite discovery of fish nurseries, tree climbing crabs, bat colonies and bird rookeries. Perfect for single travellers, visiting friends and family, hen's parties/ birthday celebrations. Ideal for those with an interest in birding, photography, and even paddle Pilates. Boards are large and sufficiently stable to accommodate people in wheelchairs, paddlers with children, and heavier-set people. Even your dog is welcome! No experience necessary. Instruction, life vests and leg ropes provided.
