“Shuttered Corporate Headquarters of the Longaberger Company”

No longer open to visitors, but viewable from outside, this gigantic basket building was the location of the Longaberger Company, an American manufacturer of handcrafted maple wood baskets. The basket may is on private property but can still be viewed from a distance. The seven story, 180,000 square foot building opened in 1997. The basket handles weigh almost 150 tons and can be heated during cold weather to prevent ice damage. Originally, Dave Longaberger wanted all of the Longaberger buildings to be shaped like baskets, but only the headquarters was completed at the time of his death. After his death, further basket-shaped buildings were vetoed by his daughters.

Cute photo op spot and nice for a quick pit stop. No bathrooms, but we had our camper for that. Nice to let the toddler run around and stretch his legs. Definitely recommend if you’re driving nearby.

I like that this isn’t just a useless waste of space, but rather a functioning office building. My travel companions were really impressed by this building.

It's a quick stop that isn't too far out of the way. Located in a cute town if you have a few minutes to stop and shop with the businesses close by selling Longaberger baskets. It is falling apart but easily accessible if you're interested in a quick photo

Still the building stands after Longerburger went out of business. It is starting to get overgrown and need attention. However was a quick fun photo op before it is gone.

Since the offices have closed, the site has fallen into some disrepair. Still, a very cool building to see!
