“Where natural enchantment is abundant!”
Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument spans across nearly 1.87 million acres of America's public lands in southern Utah. From its spectacular Grand Staircase of cliffs and terraces, across the rugged Kaiparowits Plateau to the wonders of the Escalante River Canyons, the Monument is a diverse geologic treasure speckled with monoliths, slot canyons, natural bridges, and arches. Due to its remote location and rugged landscape, the monument was one of the last places in the continental United States to be mapped.
Before you visit Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, make sure you are prepared with the most up-to-date information about the area by calling or stopping by an office or visitor center. The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument manages four visitor centers across nearly one-million acres that span the spectacular Grand Staircase of cliffs and terraces, the rugged Kaiparowits Plateau, and the wonders of the Escalante River Canyons.
Reviews
Beware- this isn’t a roadside stop. It is a visitor center at the base of a 1.9 MILLION acre monument. It’s a nice picture spot of red rocks but not the actual grand staircase.
I only drove through but it was also amazing. I've Never seen land formations like this before.
