Reviews
The park is really only accessable by boat. At the Rainey Lake Visitor Center there is a boat tour. But you have to make a reservation at Recreation.gov. at least a week or more before during the busy summer season. There is one hiking trail at Rainey Lake Visitor center, otherwise, there is no access to the National Park unless you have a boat. We stayed in International Falls. It's better to stay to the East of International Falls at a lodge or resort where you can rent a Houseboat, Kayaks etc...
We couldn't see the Northern Lights. It was a high expectation, and we will try again! Other than that, we probably don't come here since we are not lake people.
Smaller national park with less crazy scenery but it’s the best up north sights you can get.
One of the smaller National Parks it sees less people but provides a great escape into nature. I would recommend checking the weather conditions in advance and plan on renting a boat or kayak to explore the islands that contain hiking opportunities.
