“Central Oregon RV campground open year round”
The 283-acre Bend-Sunriver RV Camping preserve, on the Little Deschutes River, offers the best of both worlds: warm summers and snowy, dry winters. Fishing is allowed on this Central Oregon RV campground and preserve, and rivers and lakes in the area offer salmon, whitefish, and rainbow trout. Other summer fun includes boating, swimming, hiking and horseback riding. Our Thousand Trails resort offers both canoe and kayak rentals. Campsites, cabins, cottages, and yurts are available. Mt. Bachelor, a world-class ski resort just minutes away from Bend-Sunriver RV Camping, provides many winter activities as well as summer hiking and mountain biking. WiFi is available in the quaint town square in Bend.

Our fully wooded site felt like a state campground. We had a huge level site amongst the tall trees. Did not use the amenities beside restroom and shower, which were fine. Were scheduled to stay 14 days but left after 4 because the smoke from nearby wildfires was so bad. Will be back next year.

It’s obvious that many years ago this was a very nice RV park. The pros: some very nice sites and lots of trees; also two very nice pools. The cons: wifi is $5.95 per day through Jabba; with the exception of the pools, all other amenities have been long left for dead; the store is closed; one of the two dump sites is not working; sites can’t be reserved - first come first taken. Is this how Thousands Trails maintains their parks?? So sad to see such potential wasting away.

This is an old-school real campground in the tall Ponderosa Pines. Over 300 sites, including yurts, cabins, RV Sites, and tent sites. NO SEWER SITES but 2 dump stations on site. Large swimming pool, hot tub, pickleball courts but no on-site store anymore.
They recently upgraded all the RV Sites to 50 amp, which was nice because previously there were almost no 50 amp sites. Most of the sites are in very tall trees, and it took us a while to find a spot with at least some available sky for our Starlink. There was no way to get our Dish Satellite to work because of all the trees. We didn’t have cell services (TMobile) so it was a good thing we could run our phones through our wifi with Starlink.
The roads are dirt and winding, but wide enough to accommodate large rigs. Camping sites vary, but we were able to find a wide enough site for our 40 ft motorhome.
The bathroom/shower building was older and could use some upgrading, but it was cleaned every day.
As is with most Thousand Trails campgrounds now, there is no office to check in. Do the online check-in and your paperwork will be ready at the ranger hut upon check-in. The process is easy, and since you are picking your site, there really isn’t much to do.
It is about 3 miles to the Sunriver Resort, about 16 miles south of Bend where there is an abundance of breweries, bike trails, and shopping.

Big spaces, very wooded. Proximity to Bend and Sunriver is the reason for the pricing. The park is shabby and has seen better days.
Fire rings and picnic tables at each site.
Noise level was not a problem. A quick walk to the river -no sites are on the river. A number of the best sites are occupied by full time rigs.
Easy access to great road bike routes, kayak/SUP on site. No walking trails right out of the park. A quick drive to restaurants in Sunriver.
They also serve a $2 pancake breakfast on Sunday mornings in the club house. There is a pool open during the summer. A ping pong and a pool table are available in the club house.
We did enjoy fishing for crawdads at the resort. A quick drive is required to get to a better area for flyfishing.

This is a nice campground near to Sunriver. The sites are woody with level gravel for the RV. The restroom near our site was clean and spacious. The staff was friendly. There is a "Western themed" town square with a small store. There is no sewer hook ups, but a dump site is available. It was quite quiet during our visit.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The sites are nicely wooded and well spaced out from the neighbors.
Pros:
-Close to Sunriver and Cascade Lakes
-Scenic area
-Great access to the Little Deschutes river
-Huge grassy off leash dog area
-Adult and family pools
-Nice lodge and lots of activities
Cons:
-Lack of sewer connection at the sites but we used the nice hot showers at the pool and bathrooms
-Can be pricey but we paid $0 with our Zone pass and they offer a Passport America discount

We’ve stayed here twice. Once in early May before most of the campground’s recreational facilities were open (it snowed!). Then just for one night in July, so we haven’t had an opportunity to use the pool or other amenities.
The campground covers 283 acres with cabins, RV and tent sites. There are several loops, sites are mostly large, level, back-in, with varying degrees of separation and privacy. Sites have water and 30 amp services, but no sewer. There are dump stations and a honey bucket service twice a week if you don’t want to move your rig to dump. None of the roads are paved and it can be dusty in the summer. We like the natural setting and resident deer. 3 bars of 4G without a booster.
We do recommend putting down jack pads, we leveled and a few hours later noticed the rear jacks had sunk several inches into the soft ground. Not sure if this was just our site, but worth doing to avoid the hassle of re-leveling the coach. Note: Not a cheap date. Daily fee for an RV site is $49 + a $4/day resort fee + tax = $57.77 total. Several discounts are offered including Thousand Trails, Coach-Net, Enjoy America, FQCC, and Good Sam Club. I also used Passport America here in May but it wasn’t valid in July.
This area has a lot to offer – Bend (breweries!), High Desert Museum, Newberry National Volcanic Monument, Tumalo Falls, Lava River Cave, Deschutes River, Smith Rock…. we just need to schedule a month or so to play!

We are not always fans of Thousand Trails campgrounds, but this one is great! We typically like state parks with large and private sites. This TT park is more like a state park than an RV park and we had a great site that was large and private like we normally get at a state park. The park has nice amenities like tubing down the Little Deschutes river. It's also in a great location for visiting Sunriver and Bend. There is so much to do in this area, I wish we could have stayed longer. Tubing in Bend at the Deschutes River was lots of fun (not the same thing as the Little Deschutes at the campground). Newberry National Volcanic Monument is very close by. Verizon and AT&T both worked very well at this campground. The only downside is no sewer hookups at the campsites.

This is a good park for families (lots to do) and its convenient to a lot of outdoor activities. They have plenty of amenities and lots of activities for the kids. The staff works hard and the people are friendly.
But it doesn't get much dustier than this park. During the summer, there is little rain and the interior roads are gravel. Although there are 5mph signs everywhere, people drive too fast and there was a constant fog of dirt in the air during the day. We were there for three weeks and the dust was so bad we rarely sat outside. We will probably not go back because of the dirt.

Downpoint, no sewer. Lots of clean, working hot showers and bathrooms. Staff does a good job keeping up. Now that that is out of the way, highly recommend. Useful, and shockingly affordable priced convenience store on site. This park is in the heart of the amazing central Oregon outdoor lifestyle. It’s quite, large sites, treed, and semi private. Good ATT 4G. Great place to relax or set up base camp for an adventure at Mt. Bachelor or Newberry crater. Stunning crater lake is only about 90 min away. This is my “home park”. Take it from a local, great place to have an “outdoorsey“ experience.
