“The Hilton for Squatters”
This place is on private property. Listing for informational purposes only. Please do not visit without express permission from the land owner. Get a close up look of the former home of screen director Vincente Minelli! Minelli died in the residence in 1986 and willed the estate to his widow, yet left his daughter and well known actress Liza Minelli officially in charge of the estate. Liza decided to sell it, but his widow didn't want any part of it, so a decades long legal battle ensued as the property slowly deteriorated. The legal battle ended in 2001 with the verdict that Liza would pay the new owners rent for the widow to live on the property until her death. The widow died in 2009; however, the new owners proved to be indecisive and apparently do not know what to do with the property. That is, they don't know whether to renovate the place or tear the now decrepit eyesore down. As of today, the property is still in limbo, but that hasn't stopped the area's squatters from taking up residence in the once palatial home. So if you're feeling brave, pitch a tent in one of the myriad rooms, or sleep on a questionably stained mattress, but we can't guarantee that you won't have company.
Reviews
It's abandoned, but it's still a very noteworthy place to visit for site/sight seeing.
I saw it before it was trashed. Now its ruined. Watch my video here, see part 2 and more on my Youtube Channel. SUBSCRIBE! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dw1ayFcPG2o
