Beautiful KOA! Sites are nice - level and wooded. The full hookup back-in sites had plenty of separation. Campground was clean and well maintained. Staff in the cute campstore was super friendly and efficient. Wi-Fi was excellent even though campground was pretty full. Close to Harrisonburg and JMU. We will be back for a longer stay for sure! Note: the road to the campground from I-81 is narrow and winding

We are relocating from NY to FL, but did not make reservations ahead of time. Driving by VA in Labor Day weekend, and after calling over 30 places, this was the only KOA on the way with availability for 2 nights, in 2 different sites. Even when they were basically full, they accommodated us. The campground is beautiful with nice amenities, a store, fresh pizza and eggs from the chicken they have on-site. Mature trees, nice landscape and great staff. They have RV sites, tents sites and cabins. This was a very pleasant surprise and we had a great time.

Clean and quiet on the edge of Shenandoah NP. We had full hookups, level gravel spot, with a nice fire pit. Small playground for the kiddos and has a heated pool.

Lovely campground. Bath house nice, store on site. Will deliver pizza to your site. Nice shade trees and sites far enough away from each other. Level gravel pad. Fire pit made of large boulders. Lots of things for kids to do.

My wife and I loved this campground. It’s off the beaten path, so it’s nice and quiet. Our site had plenty of shade. The campground is run by a couple and their two kids, so everything was kept clean, and they were very helpful. Camp store and amenities were great.

One night stop. Site was mostly level, we just needed one leveling block. Very noisy early in the morning with lots of young kids unsupervised running around our site.

We were here for a week. Beautiful location! Conveniently off 81 and close to several caverns, the VA Civil War Museum, and Shennendoah National Park.
Our site was large, shaded and best of all level. No leveling blocks needed. Sites are gravel, clean and well maintained. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! Well stocked store, and they will make and deliver pizza right to your campsite. Typical KOA amenities, and they have a stocked catch and release pond on site for those who love to fish. Lots of activities for the kiddos, too.
The road in is a little hilly and several curves, but big rigs shouldn’t have any trouble navigating it - the signage on the road is great (funny sign on the road that said “1/2 miles Don’t Give Up.” Lol).
We’re more “state park people” in that we enjoy the space and solitude and we don’t have kids traveling with us (just dogs), so we don’t typically need all the on-site activities. But this week we needed full hook ups, and this park gave us that feel. With so much to do in the area, we didn’t get to it all, so we’ll be back and we’ll definitely stay here again. Sites 65 & 67 would be great Buddy sites (there is no 66 so they face each other).

We stayed here 1 night. The park is in the woods and the spaces seem really large. Each site has a nice stone fire pit. The store was one of the best I’ve seen. Plus, they make fresh pizza and deliver it to your site! After setting up we set off on the mountain trail. It was a challenging hike, but much needed after traveling for 6 hours. Wear good shoes as there are lots of rocks, large and small. The trail was clearly marked with spray paint, but we got a bit confused when we came to a gate, however we learned that you go around it and continue up the mountain. It is an out and back trail and if you want more info, it is on All Trails.
Sites are mostly level, wooded and all within a short walk to the store/laundry/pool/dog park.

We are basically FT VanLifers so we tend to stay small, economic campgrounds when we need one. I’ve been impressed with the KOA bathrooms and laundry facilities in the past, they just tend to be on the pricey side and a little crowded for us. I have to say, this campground far exceeded my expectations! The bathrooms/ showers were SUPER clean! The staff were soo friendly and there seemed to be some space between campsites. We also got really lucky and had site #1 so it just felt like we had more room. The laundry was clean and cheap $2/load. And there is even access to a hiking trail! When comparing it to other CGs in the area, the price was right in line- keep in mind we only had a water/electric site so some of the others were a little more expensive. If we need a site in the area again, We will definitely come back!!
