Adventure Aquarium

There are always more NEW things to see and do at Adventure Aquarium on the Camden Waterfront, featuring 2 million gallons of water and 8,500 animals. See an entire colony of African Penguins, walk through a free-flight aviary, or come face-to-face with stingrays, rare shark species and giant Loggerhead and Green Sea Turtles in the 760,000-gallon Ocean Realm exhibit. Be sure to check out the plentiful hands-on touch experiences, where you can hand-feed gentle stingrays, roll up your sleeves to touch live sharks, or reach in to touch an impressive collection of colorful sea critters. The fifth largest aquarium in the country, Adventure Aquarium is the only aquarium in the world with hippos and the only aquarium in the U.S. to exhibit Great Hammerhead Sharks. See the largest collection of sharks on the East Coast, including the 550,000-gallon Shark Realm exhibit, a 40-foot suspended Shark Tunnel, and from June 23 through September 3, see Megalodon: Largest Shark that Ever Lived, a traveling exhibit produced by the Florida Museum of Natural History with support from the National Science Foundation and sponsored locally by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. Don’t miss KidZone, a new play space for kids 6 and under featuring new and returning animals and touch species, as well as interactive games and activities like “Pop Up” exhibits that provide an insider’s view of the fish.
