“Farm-inspired new American restaurant”
Farm-inspired new American in the O.T.R. neighborhood of Cincinnati. No reservations. Located in the Over the Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati, on 14th street between Vine and Race streets, one block from Washington Park and two blocks from Historic Music Hall. The restaurant is built with our community in mind and our menu and atmosphere reflect the neighborhood- a mix of old and new. Chef Salazar celebrates the changing of the seasons with a farm inspired menu that’s, creative and refined, yet, playful and approachable. Salazar is the kind of restaurant that you could pop in, grab a seat at our comfortable bar, a drink and a quick bite, or you could hang out and sample the diversity offered up by our kitchen. We are also proud of our concise, well thought out list of craft beers, cocktails and wines. Reservations are gladly accepted, but we do welcome passersby as well. Either way we promise to treat you as family and will do our best to make your experience a fun and tasty one.
Salazar kicked things off on the Bekki & GF Cincinnati Food Tour and, spoiler alert, it did not disappoint. Thankfully, I have developed some minor planning skills as I have gotten older and I... Read more

This is my favorite restaurant in SF I mean Cincinnati. Read more
A favorite for my wife and I. Salazars are one of the few fresh and light food options on the Cincy restaurant scene. I can recommend getting the Duck Roulette and a Bruce Banner. Read more
I finally got to try Salazar and it was fantastic. The oyster po' boy sandwiches were fantastic - definitely get a couple for the table. I was there for lunch, and I had the special (chicken salad sandwich) but I can't wait to get back and do dinner Read more
Love this place. The first time I went, I wasn't impressed, but have been back 3 more times and loved it each time. Food is all delicious, portions reasonable. Pricey, but not unreasonable. My favorite part is that they have a little window area/patio that they open up in the summertime. It's very European feeling-- set back on an alley, with the windows open and drinking some wine. Really great restaurant, and easily one of the best in the city. Has a very nice dining area, and a good bar, which is nice since they get packed and don't take reservations. Beware that the seating is pretty tight, but the food is well worth it. Read more
I can say nothing but great things about this place. I even had a chance to see in the kitchen and it's beautiful even behind the scenes. Maybe my favorite new restaurant in the city. Read more
Really cool, cozy atmosphere and super, super delicious. Easily one of the best spots in OTR. Read more
Ate here the other night and was very impressed. Firstly, we arrived at around 8:30pm on a Monday evening and the place was packed. It was about a 30 min wait for our little group. However they opened up the side windows for us and served us drinks right out the window onto a little street bar they have set up, with bar stools outside down one side of the restaurant. Gave the place a great urban vibe, the kind you would usually find in a much bigger city. The food was among the best in town, especially the deserts which I would say are the best in town full stop. Our group tried three of them and they all rocked it. I highly recommend Salazar! Read more
My boyfriend and I got super lucky on a jam-packed Saturday night here and were somehow seated at the bar within 15 minutes. So, that was an immediate plus for Salazar- and our evening here only got increasingly better. The bartenders and servers were so incredibly nice and full of suggestions. I started off with a 'To the Queen' cocktail (b-cuz I'm like that) which was deliciously refreshing and served with flair. As someone who is not particularly adventurous in my culinary pursuits, the menu (though it changes frequently) frightened me with all its scary French words and shit- the bartender however mentioned some chicken thing with a cheese rectangle (if a bit more eloquently stated) that was one of specials for the evening and I went with that. It was effing delicious. Just perfect. Wow. It had these little pickled vegetable things surrounding it and fuck, they were so goood. I felt fancy and full and content. I, of course, saved room for dessert and ventured to get the frozen Holtman's lemon donut with a house-made strawberry sorbet- that was divine as well. I cannot rave enough about my experience here. Perhaps it was all of the 'To the Queens' I had, but my evening here was perfect- somewhat pricey but more than worth it. Read more
I went for lunch and it was excellent. I had a veggie sandwich that I highly recommend. It had a great variety of vegetables, all nicely charred, with cheese and hummus on delicious flatbread. The eggplant was a bit tough though. The burger was delicious as well, with thick cut bacon. They have Deeper Roots coffee, which is the best coffee I've ever had. The lunch sandwiches were served with chips, which I wasn't thrilled about and didn't plan to eat but ended up having a few when I realized that they were house-made. Yum! I definitely want to go back and have cocktails and dinner! Read more
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Cincinnati. The menu changes frequently so I can't recommend anything specifically, but the foie gras if they have it. I've been 5 or 6 times and thoroughly enjoyed it each time. The cocktails are really good, there's one right now with Pimms that's great. I can't recommend Salazar highly enough. It does get really crowded and they don't take reservations though so that could be an issue for some. Although pro tip: when the weather is nice they open one of the side windows creating a little bar with seating out on the sidewalk. Perfect place to enjoy a drink while you wait. Read more
I went for lunch once and had a good meal... but then I went back for dinner and HOLY shit. Fried Brussels sprouts, marrow butter, the pork jowl with blueberries and chicharrones (you must order this if it's on the menu) and the sweet potato donut holes with s'mores toppings. YUM. They have good beer and cocktails too. And they take reservations now! Read more
