“pumping 3,600 gallons of water per minute”
Fed by a crystal-clear underground spring, the park's spring pool is the center of attention in this 103-acre park in southeast Alabama. Facilities include modern and primitive campgrounds, picnic shelters, tables, grills, comfort stations, and playground. Blue Springs State Park is named for the natural spring in the park that pumps 3,600 gallons of water per minute. The temperature of the water is 68 degrees year round. The spring is crystal clear with a sandy bottom and swimming is allowed at your own risk, no lifeguard is on duty.

We were some of just a few folks in the campground following Hurricane Michael. It’s a smaller park with a very comfy cozy feel.
We stayed in site 40 which has a fairly steep incline up to a fairly level earth pad with full hookups. We had no trouble getting settled and level but I’d imagine not all rigs would have it so easy.
The road within the campground is narrow but passable and the sites fairly well spaced. You’ll find a trailhead at the top of the hill within the campground and some playground equipment that has stood the test of time, a rare treat. But the gem is the spring fed pools, which we had to ourselves on a warm October day.
Overall the campground is rustic and peaceful and I’d make a detour to visit again.

Almost no one here. Had electric, water and sewer. So reasonable place. Pay by honor system. There were military helicopters flying overhead but was otherwise quiet.

A neglected cg. Dirt pads. Some fhu most sites E/W. Lots of military helicopters day and night. One trail in a small park. Bh was ok but first 5 days no heat made for cold showers with low pressure. Not much to do in the area. Several small towns to visit. Did go to Montgomery about 1 hour away. Sorry to say I believe overpriced in the winter. Great cell service for Verizon.

An overnight stop enhanced by the springs, this campground is ready for an infusion of funds and a redo. We had a “pull through” that was really a half circle of old asphalt that had no parking space other than the drive. Someone coming in behind us would have had to use the rain soaked grass. Not a positive scenario. On the other hand, the
utilities worked, the bh was not so bad, and there were only two other campers on a Sunday night. Build back better needed here.
