“contains many miles of trails”
A 789-acre city park in Colorado Springs, Colorado, situated on the west side of the city, adjacent to Manitou Springs and south of U.S. Route 24. The park consists of a series of parallel ridges (called "hogbacks") and eroded canyons, a continuation of the same sandstone rocks of the Fountain Formation that make up Garden of the Gods a few miles to the north.
Reviews
I had read on Google reviews that you could drive this. They were wrong. Lol unless they were referring to the parking lots. These are hiking trails to hike with plenty of parking. If it wasn't so hot (100) we may have gone but we were looking for some drive thru sightseeing. Looked pretty cool though! 😎
We hiked the trail(s) here and were very impressed with being very close to the red rock formations. Not as touristy as the Garden of the Gods. Best to go during Spring and Fall. Very hot in summer. Lots of parking, porta-poties available. Garden of the Gods is in the distance once you reach a higher elevation.
This place was a great stop for lunch and a leg stretch. Easy route off of I25. Bathrooms are only portable toilets.
Nice area. Not much around. All hiking trails. That's about it. Lots of parking.
Go get lost here! Amazing hike with butterflies flying everywhere😍
