“KFC is inside, too!”
Eat where it all began - sort of. The Harland Sanders Museum and Cafe is built directly across the street from the original KFC where the Colonel perfected his recipe. Enjoy a bucket of chicken and see some of the original items relocated at this KFC.

Interesting if you are passing nearby. Not worth driving out of your way though, as it is mostly just a KFC.
KFC is the world's 2nd largest fast food chain in the world. And it started here, in Corbin KY! If you're an entrepreneur you should let this sink in. You don't have to be in California or New York to start an outrageously successful business. Come pay homage to the Colonel!!
Great Photo Op!
Lobby closed for Covid. No signs, no notice, no warning on any platform.
Came on a Tuesday around 1:00pm and the lobby was closed. Only drive-thru was open. Several people were pulling in trying to go inside and we were all disappointed!! Maybe call ahead before detouring from your route.
On our trip to the smokey mountains I decided to take a small detour and Visit the Birthplace of KFC. It was interesting and a good place to stop for lunch. For us it was a very small detour but well worth it. But I do have to say don't make a big detour. Its a good stop along the way.
The food was great and it was fun to see something our 6&9 y/o boys could relate to and enjoy also!!
Not sure what some of these crazies are talking about, this place is definitely worth the detour!
For starters, who doesn't love KFC?! And I will go to my grave insisting that it tasted better here than it has ever before in my life!
Couple that with seeing tons of cool artifacts (my favorite was the 100 pound container of herbs and spices shipped to the colonel that he personally cut every single label, ingredient, etc. off of), reading all sorts of informational displays, seeing the original kitchen that he invented this gloriousness inside, and eating in a cool old dark rickety building as opposed to a sterile white on white institutional nightmare, and this place is a definite must see, must eat stop on your way through Kentucky. Just don't forget to sit in The Colonel's lap and snap a selfie!
It’s half a normal KFC and then you can eat in the old building. Ample parking and not too busy. Little display of artifacts in the KFC half and a weird motel room and kitchen setup in the old building. I ate my chicken tenders looking at a bed. Kinda weird.
if you're on a road trip it's a fun way to stop and eat and take a pic sitting with a statue of Sanders. if you don't want to eat here it's not worth the drive, there's not much nearby and it's not super close off the highway.
