Follow in the footsteps of early pioneers in Iowa to see what they saw on their adventures. Receive an orientation for trips north following the Lewis and Clark Trail or for trips west following the routes of early travelers on the Oregon, Mormon, and California Trails. Enter the Lied Historical Building on the Path of Names to enjoy educational exhibits, maps, films, and sculpture. The State Historical Society of Iowa owns and operates the center. It was designed and built by the National Park Service and local partners and has five National Park cancellation stamps.
