We were a few days too early for this mighty beautiful park up the road where every site was surrounded by the redwoods, so we ended up here instead.
I won't go on and on about how a KOA should have this or at least that or a bit more...wait there I go.
I'll just say it's a little less than your average KOA, but the same price.
However, you can hop back into the forest behind the kampground and voila, tons of big beautiful reddies. I love them. You should too. Do you not? Why? Are you a treeist? Treeism died in the 70s for pine's sake man!
If you do dig trees, they also have a sequoia hiding somewhere. If you know what to look for, it shouldn't be too hard to find. Or if you don't care, that's cool too. Just saying.

We stayed here in early March, shortly after they had opened for the season. Sites were of usual width for a KOA. Given the campground was largely empty, it still felt very spacious. Our site was on the grass, a level and easy pull-thru spot with full hookups, though we didn't use water / sewer as we were camping dry to avoid the risk of freezing.
This KOA was a surprisingly pleasant campground - with goats and chickens! It's pretty remote and has a mix of open areas and a second growth forest with some of their own redwoods growing there among the stumps of their parents, cut down by loggers many years ago. It has a nice mix of different campsite types, with plenty of options for tent campers as well, back in the trees. It's also very close to Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park (less than 15 minutes) where you can conveniently visit the really big trees and go for nice walks in the woods.
The bathrooms were pleasant and very clean, which we appreciated. The staff were also very pleasant and helpful. We'd definitely stay here again, even though it's not a destination resort, because it is so convenient to the Redwoods and price competitive with the state park while offering more amenities.
We had acceptable Verizon cell service here, though we can't recall the number of bars. Photos of the cute goats and huge trees at Jedidiah on our blog: http://www.casarocinante.com/Blog/OR-and-North-CA-Coast-03-2015

Average KOA rammed up each other. However, this one has a little wooded loop that is amongst Redwood stumps and such and I wonder how you get those sites...?
They rent recumbent trikes so be prepared for lots of kids going crazy around the CG.
The good? Close to Jedidiah SP and tons of Redwoods to experience. Convenient to Crescent City for shopping and such or the beach.

Stayed here last May...I really liked camping in the trees. It wasn't very crowded. It's the only KOA I stayed at on the pacific coast.

Based on other RV sites in this area, this is a keeper.
Use your GPS cause the site comes up quickly.
Sites are uneven.
Lots of tent sites (walk-in) for those tenting it.
Laundry was $1.75 wash, $0.50 drying.
We were in the back so noise was not fair to evaluate.
If you have family the "Trees of Mystery" was worth it.
Lighthouse visits are tide dependent.

We stayed for 3 nights while visiting Redwoods National Park. We have stayed in a lot of KOA campgrounds and like the good locations and full hook-ups. This KOA had a lot of trees and was very pleasant. The owners are doing a lot of work refurbishing the campground and upgrading the overall campground. The entry road into the KOA had a lot of potholes in it - so be prepared for some bumps coming and going in and out of the campground right onto highway 101.

Decent service. Many sites spaced out more than a typical koa. However, having just spent some time coming down the Oregon Coast, staying at Oregon State parks along the way as a comparison, it’s hard to give this camp more than a 3 star rating. No paving or gravel on in-park roads so constant clouds of dust were stirred up every time someone drove past—which happened often. There are some pretty sites here but since we couldn’t pick one of those and, given the clouds of dust settling over everything, we’d skip this campground next time.

After a long and stressful drive northbound on the 101, we needed a place to regroup and rest. We found this place and we must say, it was clean and quite. The sites are dirt but level and remember, you're tucked away in the Redwoods so. The bump out are going to be tight, clean laundry room $1.50 to wash and $2.00 for 45 min dry. The store is well stocked and we're glad we came during the off season. Safe travels.

The only reason this didn’t get 5 stars is because as noted they need to add more gravel to keep the mud/dust down. Other than that our site was beautiful! We just had the 30/20 electric and water hookups but there’s a dump station on site. Very convenient location close to what I consider the prettiest part of the Redwoods. We rented a car (need to work on a towable vehicle) and drove up to Stout Grove. It’s close to Crescent City and pretty beaches. The person at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Our site was a pull through but it was on the corners of an area that seemed to be all cabins. The standard pull through sites are the usual RV park style though many had a hedge between the sites. Bathrooms were clean and showers were warm. The far shower in the Women’s restroom had the hot and cold reversed but I figured it out.
