“Gallery in Gainesville, FL”
The Thomas Center Galleries, under the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department, exhibit the highest quality of work by local, regional, and emerging artists and collectors. The exhibitions vary thematically and rotate every six to eight weeks in the Main and Mezzanine Galleries. The Thomas Center for the Arts is committed to providing education, enjoyment and cultural enrichment of the entire community and its visitors. The art industry emphasizes humanity and is a source of individual expression, creativity, therapy, problem solving and innovation. The arts encourage us to learn from each other, embrace our differences, ask questions and think for ourselves. The mission of the Division of Cultural Affairs is to promote cultural activity in Alachua County and develop mechanisms that support and encourage community-based cultural resources. We define "cultural" to include ethnic, ecological, and historic resources, as well as the fine and popular arts.
