The original mission and purpose of The Galveston Center for Transportation and Commerce was to depict the history of transportation in our State and especially in our community. Primary to this mission was the assembly of the largest collection of railroad artifacts and memorabilia (railroadiana), and what is still the largest and finest collection of railroad rolling stock in the southwestern United States.
