“One of the most recognized inns in America”
Housed in a building dating back to 1810, this Civil War-themed B&B is 1 block from the Shriver House Museum and 1.1 miles from Gettysburg National Military Park. The quaint, individually decorated rooms have period furnishings; some feature 4-poster beds. A cooked breakfast is offered in a dining room that also serves candlelit dinners. There’s a beer garden, a replica Civil War camp and a tavern with live music. The attic houses a museum of wartime relics. Ghost and war tours are available for an extra fee.
Reviews
We booked this Bed and Breakfast after seeing it mentioned on the History Channel. No ghosts here and the stories the workers tell you are a joke. I felt stupid after the first day because the room was not worth the money and the ghost stories were childish. The first day we had a Shock beer for $5 in the bar and later found a restaurant/bar called Blue and Gray at the round-about downtown. We had a PITCHER of Shock beer there for $5 - the place had all kinds of superior deals. We never ate at the Farnsworth again except for the included breakfast which was OK.
