Quiet place during the week with lots of electric spots to choose from. It's has a nice playground for the kids. The showers and bathrooms are clean. It's nice to take a walk down by the lake on the trails.

We stayed in campground #2 which is right along Saylorville Lake with great views. Sites were large with good spacing between them. Sites are electric only but plenty of water spigots nearby to hook a hose to if you need more fresh water. Decent Verizon internet connection for work and streaming. Nice park with plenty of hiking trails and an Elk and Bison enclosure and education area. We have a daughter in Des Moines and will definitely stay here again.

We have stayed here multiple times. It is $25 a night but if you pay for 6 you get the 7th free. They have electric hookup with water and dump available. Campground #2 along Saylorville Lake is now the only one that is a walk up. Campgrounds 1 & 3 are now reservations only. This is a change from previous years. There is some shade on Campground 2 where as 1 & 3 have lots more shade options. Tent camping is available on grass with good shade. Great hiking trails. There are Bison and Elk in an enclosed area to look at. A great visitor center to visit also. Bath houses are well kept as well as the campsites (this last time they were having a weed issue). Firewood is available. Space between campsites with fire pits and table. Sites are pretty level.

Beautiful park, lots to do. There are several trails, bison and elk (with babies) mini golf, regular golf, Saylorville Lake is nearby, nature center, tons of wild flowers. Sites aren’t too cramped and mostly level, everyone seems friendly. Bathhouses are clean, warm water, good shower pressure. We will be back!

We stopped here for an overnight while traveling twice. All the sites along the water were taken but there were many open sites in other areas. We checked in using the online registration. The campground was clean and quiet. There were plenty of areas to walk our dogs. There are multiple water faucets throughout the campground and two dump stations. Since our last visit, they paved all the campground roads.
