Great piece of American history. At the Guerney Ruts you can walk in the ruts made by wagons traveling the Oregon trail. It's a short walk to the top of the hill on a paved path. The path loops around and comes down the other side of the parking lot. There are also bathrooms available.
We have ancestors that crossed through here, so it was extra special for us! It is not only the Oregon Trail, but the Mormon trail and the California gold rush Trail.
Such an awesome stop!! My boys (8 and 9) loved it way more than I had hoped for. We followed the trails and read the signs. Hard to believe the traveling they had to go through and what the Earth looked like before we built on it.
Great little place to stop and explore. There’s a path but also has spots you can leave the side walk and explore. This was a great place to see deep ruts still existing from the Oregon Trail.
