“truly a magical place”
We at Deer Crossing hope that you can also have some great moments with us this year. We're a place that loves families, those travelling with horses or your pets. Call us or book on-line. Looking forward to meeting you! How could you ask for more than Western Montana?! DC B & B is located along the historic Lewis and Clark Trail between Hamilton and Darby, Montana, nestled on twenty-five acres of tall pines and lush meadows overlooking the beautiful Bitterroot Valley. Relax on the deck with a steamy cup of freshly ground coffee and watch the sun rise over the Sapphire Mountains. Enjoy sweet dreams in one of our suites, guestrooms or cabins. Awaken to a hearty ranch breakfast served in the Sun Room with its fabulous views, then plan your day to include horseback riding, world class fly fishing, hiking, exploring historical sites, or relaxing on the deck to soak up the quiet beauty. (Or even listen to Stu "ramble" on about the history of the valley and DC B & B. - no extra charge!) Fishing should be excellent, especially early-on. Wildlife has been abundant here at DC early this year with lots of Whitetail Deer, Elk, and Bear siteings. Wolf, lion and others make their presence known by track and siteings in the back country. The widlflowers of Montana and hundreds of species of birds visit as DC is on a major flyway. No matter what time of year you choose to visit, you will find that in our valley the skies are a little bluer, the air is fresher, the days are slower paced, the quiet is quieter and the people are friendlier. We invite you to "Kick off your boots, hang your hat and make yourself at home!" Once you drive through our gate you're family! We're not just for summer - great snowshoeing, downhill and crosscountry skiing and so much more. Give the Bitterroot more than a few days. This area is filled with history and you can take great day trips to ghost towns, Sapphire mines, railroad museums, great historic mansions or head back into some of the most pristine wilderness area left in the 'lower 48! How about digging for crystals on your own or taking a hike up to some beautiful mountain lakes and having lunch looking up at Trapper Peak? Deer Crossing is your best place for "base camp" that you can choose!
