Passport America rate for two nights. Small campground associated with GolfCourse/Resort in countryside of Michigan. Clean, friendly, concrete sites with patio. Self contained campers only(no campground restrooms). Very nice spot for us to recover from six weeks of working on our stick house before heading out in our Motor Home. Plenty of area for walking our four legged camper. GolfCourse has a restaurant/grill open from 7am-10 pm. We camped in our 42 ft motor home with jeep tow.
Great satellite reception and great WiFi.

Echo prior review. Very pleasant setting alongside the golf course. Great water pressure made for the best in MH shower! Occasional road noise in late afternoons only drawback.

Easy park to find off the main highway. Followed signs to pull into the RV check in spot to register at the lodging office near the pro shop. Received a map and paper placard to place in the trailer’s rear window. No rules sheet but it was easy to figure out what to do such as place your trash by the curve in the morning, dogs on a leash, etc. Since the park was small, finding our pull through FHU site 14 was easy. Utilities were smartly placed to include two sewer connections so didn’t need any extra hoses. For our 6 night stay, the $43 per night was an average cost and included 1 free night with Passport America. We were amazed that we got a 6 nighter through Labor Day. We arrived on the Tuesday before Labor Day to find the CG pretty much to our selves. The CG seemed like a 55+ park as there was not much for kids to do here i.e. no pool, playground etc. which is fine for us and one of the reasons why we graded this CG high. The CG had most of the items we like such as reasonably spaced sites, quiet adults plus order out or dine in restaurant on the grounds. There wasn’t a designated dog area but there was plenty of grassy space between the CG and main road to walk your pups. The CG did fill up for Labor Day with only one group of kids and barking dogs, but they kept the kids and noise under control. Since we were here to golf, we didn’t venture out much but there was plenty to do within an hour or so drive. Golf prices here were very reasonable compared to like courses, plus they give a discount for staying at the RV park. We found a good laundromat in Hillman right down the road. Thunder Bay was a wonderful experience and we plan to come back.

We stayed here again in July 2022. Our RV GPS brought us right to the golf course where you check in both for the campground (CG) and resort lodging, which is made up of a lodge and cabins. Check-in was easy and we were escorted to pull through site 7, which we chose for our second stay because of the course view. The sites are decently spaced in this small CG. There are cable connections but they do not have cable anymore, but you do get a decent variety of OTA channels. There are some trees, but you can also get a clear shot of the sky for satellite. We got a solid two bars on Verizon and were able to connect to the internet using our MiFi. There are no restroom facilities in the CG but all the sites are FHU. We’d stayed here two years ago when COVID restrictions severely limited activities. We noticed that the restaurant and the elk ride dinners were back up and running. One drawback is that they do not allow you to take a golf cart back to the CG that’s about 100 yards from the clubhouse to pick up and return your clubs. The resort does not have a playground and there’s not much to do for small kids, which is a plus for us. We again enjoyed our short stay, especially playing this fun and challenging golf course.
