“Enjoy a Brisk Swim in the Lake!”
Take your pick: swimming, fishing, birding, boating of all kinds, waterskiing, camping, hiking or just plain relaxing and enjoying unsurpassed natural beauty. It's all here . . . at Lake Claiborne State Park. For fishermen, the freshwater lake was lavishly stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill sunfish, channel catfish, black crappie, striped bass, chain pickerel, bream, and white perch. The lake itself, at full reservoir level, has a surface area of 6,400 acres. Two-bedroom cabins are nestled among the pine trees, and many offer a view of the lake. The RV campground rests among the slopes of the north Louisiana foothills, offering shaded spots to get closer to nature. Whatever your preference for an overnight stay, you'll be sure to rest peacefully. One of the most popular activities for visitors of all ages is swimming at the park's sandy beach. The beach is situated on an inlet of the lake, and is protected from boats and waterskiers. So work up an appetite for that fresh fish supper by taking a brisk swim in Lake Claiborne's famous clear water. Ecologists and sportsmen alike hail the lake's excellent water quality, and you will too, once you've made the trip to Lake Claiborne. Once on site, you will see the area come to life as a park naturalist will be available to present nature-based programs and give guided hikes. The woods of Lake Claiborne are also home to a wide variety of wildlife. Lovely nature trails and a scenic overlook will allow you to appreciate the beauty of the area at your own pace. Or you may be interested in a variety of nature tours, offered on a regular basis.

Came here for a day trip. Costs 2$ per person. The staff was really friendly, the trails were nice, and the lake was beautiful. The trails don't take that long to hike. I would highly recommend bringing a kayak because that's where the fun is at.
Here is a video that i filmed of the state park while i was there:

This is a beautiful park with 2 18 hole Disc Golf courses, beautiful lake for boating, fishing and swimming. The whole park has strong wifi too - our Site 84 has a wifi repeater pole too! Lots of hiking and biking trails too. The weekend was pretty full, but quiet at the same time. There was a disc golf tournament going on while we were here - Hole #9 being behind our site. The bath houses are nice and clean... they also have laundry facilities with 2 washers and dryers. We absolutely love it here and will stay again when out this way.

It was just odd enough that we came out of our way to check this campground out. We were the only people in the park. Guy at the gate was friendly, loaned us some Frisebee's. We were in site 12 near the water--the wi-fi signal was great, but it was there. Sites are asphalt, nice with water and up to 50 amp hookups. Didn't use the public bathrooms so can't comment on that.
Would definitely stay here again.

This is well maintained park with hiking, biking, disc golf and lake setting. The sites are a little close and lacking privacy for my taste. There are lots of trees with good shade. Bathrooms are clean with good hot showers. There is free laundry! There is no cell service but good Wi-Fi

You can see the lake through the pines from the campsites. There are short trails (30 yards) which lead down to the lake. Great bank fishing opportunities. There is a beach area for swimming, two 18-hole disc golf courses, trails, and a boat ramp. The only drawback is that many of the campsites with the best views are on top of each other. Due to close proximity, you can hear conversations from those at campsites next to the one you are staying at. Restrooms/shower area are just ok. Could use a little more attention from Park staff. I have stayed here before and will stay here again.

This is a very nice park. Our camp site was spacious and had a lovely view of the lake. There were several walking trails and two 18 hole frisbee courses, if you like that. The park has a beach house and kayaks you can rent as well as a very nice beach area. We stayed in the #2 campground area but walked thru #1 and it had some very nice sites right on the lake. We highly recommend this State Park.

We stay here 12/11–13/2022. The campground is on a hillside in a tall pine forest along Lake Claiborne. Virtually all asphalt RV pads are significantly inclined downhill (motorhomes will have 2 wheels off the ground to level). My internet throughput was better on computer-to-cell-to-internet connection than through campground WiFi. Restroom, showers, and laundromat were attractive and clean. Area A campground was adjacent to the recreational area. Most sites are $25 (less 50% any senior discount), plus tax, plus $4.50 transaction fee. For 2 nights, my average cost/night was $15.76.
