“gone fishin!”
Utah State Parks: At 3,300 feet above sea level, relatively low elevation for Utah, Quail Creek Reservoir boasts some of the warmest waters in the state and a mild winter climate. Quail Creek lures boaters and anglers year-round. Spend a day on the water or visit a nearby state or national park, then retire to a campsite in a spectacular red rock desert setting. The maximum depth of Quail Creek can reach 120 feet, so it is cold enough to sustain the stocked rainbow trout, bullhead catfish, and crappie. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources also stocks largemouth bass and bluegill, which thrive in the warmer, in the upper layers of the reservoir. Man made reservoir. Unable to enter due to lot full don't know if due to Covid restrictions. Has a bathroom. Really pretty though.
We were pleasantly surprised with Quail Creek State Park. Each site has a picnic table with a shade cover, a fire pit and a grill. The campground is on the small side so even when it was full over the weekend it didn't seem crazy busy. There is a little bit of road noise, but it didn't bother us. Our site #22 had a lot of privacy and a nice water view.
Be warned, the entrance is on a steep slope. We were fine with it, but some bigger rigs might not be happy about it.
Friends of ours were camping nearby at Sand Hollow SP, and they had to pay a $10 day use fee to come visit us. Boo!
Even though we got Verizon service, the data isn't consistent here. AT&T was much more reliable. The only over-the-air TV we got was ABC.

I pulled up to this park at around 1 pm. The person on the gate just kept repeating that they were full, seeming annoyed she had to stop chewing her sandwich to do so. Couldn't offer any alternatives. From what I saw it looked a bit dumpy.

Small park, some pull thrus. Loved the scenery. The only negative for us was the highway noise from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on a Monday morning in March. The campground sits in a bowl next to the lake and the highway is just above it. I would definitely go back, but only in an "off season", because I would imagine it is pretty busy with boaters in the summer.

Great place on a beautiful lake only minutes from hiking at Red Cliffs. Campsites were clean. Fire pit was perfect. Even had a covered table. Gorgeous sunrise here. Other campers were quiet and courteous and the camp hosts were lovely. Restrooms were out of order but other than that, this place was great. Would definitely stay again.

Would have given it a 5 star, but the flush toilets were out of order.
We stayed here 5 nights to do West Zion and the Red Cliff area for hiking. It was perfect! Nice breeze if the water. We were able to use the showers over at Sand Hallow for $2 per person with our Quail Creek window tag, we didnt have to pay the entrance fee. We were also able to use the Sand Hollow sani dump for free today as we left.

Okay state park. Sites are not level. Electric hook-up only, with water available around the park. No dump station at this park, you have to take a 15 minute drive to Sand Hollow State Park for a dump station. Sand Hollow also has full (electric, water, sewer) hook-ups. This park is fairly quite, but generators can run from 7am to 10pm. Nice view of the lake and each site has a covered picnic table. Really steep entrance and exit to this park. Front entrance gate closes at 9pm. I would advise to travel an additional 5 miles and camp at Sand Hollow.

Picked here because Red Cliffs was first come first serve. Came 1st wk April. Red Cliffs was super busy so I’m glad I did this. Close enough to St George. Beach in day area but not nice hangout coastline near the campsites. Water with threaded spigot right next to my site and a few others.
drinking water, no showers except down at day use nowhere near camps, no power

We stayed here four nights in April. The campground is scenic, right on the lake, and centrally situated for activities outside the state park. We found the campground staff to be pleasant to deal with and the campground very quiet after the 10 PM quiet hours.
The campground is short on bathrooms, with only one in the camping area. The one bathroom has two stalls for women and one for men, so getting a stall can be an issue.
The biggest negative for us is that the park and campground closes from 9PM to 7AM. Closes, as in they lock the gate so if you are not in by 9PM, you cannot get in. This is true even after you have checked in. You can leave before 7AM through a one way exit which has tire spikes to prevent going the wrong way. Since we were using the campground as a base area for excursions, we had days where we had to cut our activities short in order to make our 9PM curfew.

Pros: this place has amazing views, very well organized staff and close to major attractions in the area.
Cons: The site are extremely unleveled, you can’t access the park by vehicle after 9PM, the ants are all over the sites (us and two of our neighbors), the shower on site is an outdoor shower which requires quarters. In addition no dump station on site during our stay.
