Nice camp ground. Not very big but great amenities. First park we found on our truck north from Houston that had really good Wi-Fi. Right in the heart of historical Independence. Many sites within easy walking distance. Wound up staying an extra day and still do not see near all other was to see and do.
We were planning on spend three nights in Independence, MO to visit the Harry S. Truman sites (NPS Historic Site and the Truman Presidential Library and Museum) and Kansas City and there aren’t a lot of convenient camping alternatives. We were visiting in mid-November and the nearby county parks were closed for the season, so this left Campus RV Park as our only reasonable option.
The campground is fairly typical for a mid-range, private RV park: the sites are fairly close together and the facilities are clean, but a little dated and spartan. Our site was level, but not very long—the front-half of our truck stuck out into the road, but this didn’t seem to be an issue since the road in about 3x normal width and we took our parking cues from everyone else.
The rest of the campers appeared to be a mix of people passing through and long-term working visitors (lots of trucks that left early and returned late every day of our stay). With the exception of a couple of trains each day, the RV Park is fairly quiet and located next to a LARGE LDS Temple that is pretty cool looking at night. One of the other RV Park Review sites said that Campus RV is in a rough neighborhood, but I don’t agree. Across the street is an industrial area and the homes in the area appear to be older, lower mid-class with a couple of large, multifamily places. We always felt safe.
It is a 10’ish block drive to the Harry S. Truman National Historic Site Visitor Center (corner of Truman and Main St). The Truman home is located 5 or 6 blocks from the visitor center. The Truman Presidential Library and Museum is located several blocks north of Truman Rd and is separate from the NPS stuff. Both the NPS stuff and the Library are well visiting and I highly recommend them (our 7-yo son enjoyed both). The downtown area is very cute and the people are super friendly. There is a very nice coffee shop downtown that had great prices and fast internet.
It is a bit of drive to downtown Kansas City, but we went in to the city a couple of times, once for BBQ (Q39 – A fantastic, upscale hipster’ish neighborhood BBQ place) and once for burgers (Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant – A greasy hamburger place that a friend recommended because kids LOVE it. Our son did love it because of its kitschy railroad theme and the fact that they deliver the meals by model trains).

If you want to be close to the Truman destinations in Independence, this is the place to stay. It's a short walk to the Independence Square area (to see the Truman House and NPS visitor center) and the presidential library is less than 2 miles away. The National Frontier Trails Museum is about 2 blocks away. The beautiful RLDS Independence Temple is just a few blocks away as well.
As noted in the prior review, this is a typical midlevel private park. Campers park side by side with little to no privacy, but with full hookups for $32 (without Good Sam discount) we were able to complete some maintenance and visit the nearby sites we wanted to see at a decent price. There are three pull-through sites but the rest are all backin. The sites are divided into a southern and northern portion. The residence in the middle is the also the management office. We found management to be very friendly and helpful, and happy to accept mail for campers. It seemed most campers were short-term, but there's an RV storage area with some pretty beat up vehicles.
The bathhouse is quite dated but functional. Laundry facilities looked fairly new with three washers ($1.50) and three dryers ($1.00). The nearby train tracks are heavily used and I found the train whistles throughout the night to be very loud, but my husband barely noticed. The only reason we wouldn't stay again is that we strongly prefer a natural park setting over urban parking lots. The area felt safe and the distance to the attractions can't be beat.

I have stayed here multiple times the last 3 years on business. The campground is very clean and the staff is terrific and accommodating. The pads are concrete the drive is paved. the location is one of the best parts. Plenty of walking and eating close by. The only noise is the a train track near by. The laundry is very clean.

Campus RV Park is in Independence, Missouri. It is just on the outskirts of Kansas City. We chose this park because we were attending a Chiefs football game. It is about 15 minutes from the stadium. We paid about $31/night with a Good Sam discount. We had excellent cell service here on both AT&T and Verizon. Free park wifi is available.
The park is medium sized and clean. We were there in our 35' fifth wheel. Most of the sites are back-in, and there are a few pull-throughs (which we stayed in). There were full hook-ups, bathrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. There are two large grassy areas for activities or dog walking. The park is in an older part of town, in the middle of a district with numerous churches. The only negative is the train noise. There is a yard or junction nearby and when the trains come through, you know it. It did not ruin our stay, however.
We would stay there again.

Nice level paved pads with FHU for just over $30 (with Good Sam discount). Close to train tracks, but fairly quiet otherwise. If you need good cell, dont be deterred by the number of signal bars here. Both T-Mobile & ATT were very fast for us while we were here.

Good place to stay if in the area. Had full hookups. They do have 5 pull through sites but most are back in. Fuel prices are good but we had to look around. Would stay there again.

I stayed here 3 nights mostly for the price. I went into the bathroom and promptly left, it was just too old/dirty to use. Leaky water connection and it took me 4 tries before my surge supressor would connect to the pole; the 50 amp plug looked like it had burned a little at some point but th 30 amp worked if I had all the circuits flipped on. The laundry was small but clean and cheap. I was on a concrete pad with though room for my toad but I parked it 20' away in the shade. Each spot had a plastic "Lifetime" picnic table and the sites were clean and level.
The folks that run this place are nice and helpful. I stayed here mostly because the price was great, they took credit cards, had laundry, and it was close to most things I needed for shopping and stocking up. I would stay here again if the price was still good.
Also, this is very close to an Amtrak station and you can hear the train whistle all day and night. If you don't close your windows with the a/c I'd recommend a sound machine.

Our GPS led us to the park via some narrow streets. We did not encounter any problems but... Signage is adequate. Check in was quick and easy. Interior roads are paved and in fairly good condition. Our site, 27, was a back in near the end of the row. We visited during the off season thus the park was not full and we had space. During peak season you will have slide to awning This is an urban park so expect noise including trains.
Sites are level concrete with a small patio and table with patchy grass between sites. Utilities are 50 and 30 Amp with water and sewer situated to the left rear. There is no cable but a number of OTA channels are available. Wifi was not the greatest. It cut out often. There are laundry facilities on site. The machines were clean and in good working order but e thought it they were a little pricey. There are no restaurants or stores within walking distance.
We paid a weekly rate of $231.03 including tax. No Good Sam discount on weekly rate. We found it to be a fair price and would return if in the area.
