There are not full hookups, but there is a dump station and water available to fill the tanks. Bigger rigs will be most comfortable in the upper section, while pop ups, tents, and smaller campers will enjoy the lower section, which is closer to the lake. There are bathrooms and individual shower rooms. Occasionally one will be finnicky, but mostly they are well-kept and clean. Be sure to take soap with you, as sometimes people walk off with it. There is a 3 mile trail around the lake, although it does get muddy. The swimming beach requires a hike about a fifth of the way around the trail, or a short drive out of the campground area and through the main park entrance. It is not far. There is a warning sign about microbes, but the count is online. It tends to run very low, especially at the beginning of the season, but all Iowa lakes are required to have the signs posted. Don't let it worry you. Just go online to check the report. The beach is not lifeguarded, but is a great beach. During the busy season, there is boat rental and a snack bar. Try the stand up paddleboards! They are super fun! Also, there is a fishing house that is accessible with indoor and outdoor spots to fish, along with ample fishing jetties spread around the entire lake. Mostly we catch sunfish and crappie, but rarely do we come up empty. It is a small place, but a diamond in the rough. The limited hookups keep it cheap, and during the week and off seasons it is rarely busy. We will keep going back for sure. The only problem is the nightly visits by raccoons if you leave bait or food out. We have US Cellular and get a great signal.

Stayed here in March whet it was pretty deserted. The lower campground near the lake has no trees, so anticipate little privacy when the campground is busy. A network of new cement roads connects nice gravel pads. Two bars on USCellular.

Ahquabi is a small state park around a man-made lake that is a favorite spot for locals. It has a beach, camping, hiking trail, fishing spots, picnic shelters, and boat ramp (but the whole lake is no-wake). It's a nice spot if you're looking for a park that's small and simple.
