This place was BEAUTIFUL! We visited on our way through Tennessee as a stop to stretch our legs and let the kiddos play. It was perfect the walk down to the river bridge trail is only 1 mile long and the nature play scape was Awesome! Our children are 15 months and 5 years. They loved our nature adventure! We visited in January and it was beautiful I imagine it gets even better in the spring and summer!
We spent an hour here after about 9 hours in the car. It was perfect and just what we needed!
Friendly staff lots of learning opportunities and tons of Fun!
Great place to walk, bike, and enjoy nature!
This is one of our favorite places to visit when we visit Knoxville. It's so close to downtown Knoxville, but feels far away. Love the hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and boardwalks along the river!
There is so many things to do and see I cannot recommend this experience enough. And it’s beautiful!!
I made this stop while on my long road trip from Minneapolis to Gatlinburg and it was perfect. With Knoxville being about an hour from my destination and being on the road all day it was a perfect way to get some walking and nature time in. They have bathrooms and a large gift shop and you can use the nature center for free. I bought some snacks, used the bathroom, filled up on water, and took about a 45 minute hike down the Tower Trail and along the Riverwalk shortly before sunset, which was so nice. Wear your tennis shoes or hiking shoes and it is a dirt and rock trail that does go up and down. Google states that it closes at 5pm however, the sign at the gate says the gate closes at sunset and when I left at 6pm they were still open. They also have a zipline or something of that nature there for you to enjoy for $$ if you want. I really enjoyed this stop and would stop again in the future. Thank you Ijams Nature Center!
Beautiful area located right in Knoxville. I love having this recreation area available to the public right within the city.
Great place to wander and stretch your legs. The quarry is beautiful and so is the trail along the river. A hidden gem!!
This place is so cool!!!!!
