“Get close to the animals!”
Claws 'N' Paws is a private zoo in the heart of Lake Ariel. It's often called "the zoo in the woods" because of it's woodland setting. Open from mid- late April until late October. Throughout the day there are a number of keeper-lead activities, many of which are designed to give the public a closer interaction with our animals. Giraffe feedings, lory parrot feedings and turtle town are some of our favorites This page is run entirely by our keepers. All the photos, updates and stories are from the keepers who work with these animals every day. We love our animals very much and know that many of you care about them too and we cant wait to share their lives with you. Keep in touch over the winter too. Although you may not be able to come and visit them yourself, we promise to keep you updated and post lots of pictures of all your favorites. If you have any questions we'd be more than happy to answer them and would love to see all the great pictures you've taken too. If you have a favorite animal that you'd like to see more of, just let us know and we will do our best.
Reviews
This "zoo in the woods" is very well cared for. The zookeepers take excellent care of the animals and are always on hand to answer any questions. Daily feedings of the new giraffe, "Jethro", are fun to see and take part in. My family visits frequently and we love to see what the animals are up to. There are 2 lion brothers, playful river otters, and a great reptile house.
Well kept. The keepers were really knowledgeable and friendly.
