“Kampgrounds of America”
Mackinac Island is the most spectacular destination in Michigan, and this KOA campground is a perfect location to stay. Free shuttles to island ferries and discounted tickets are available at office. Our nature trail connects to a paved trail into Mackinaw City, where you can explore Colonial Michilimackinac and Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse. Or continue on the North Western State Trail for miles of hiking/biking and area beaches. Rent a bike from KOA or bring your own. Use this KOA as a base camp for an easy trip across the Mackinac Bridge to Tahquamenon Falls, Soo Locks and Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum on Lake Superior. Take a scenic drive through Tunnel of Trees. You're less than 2 miles from a Lake Michigan beach. After sightseeing, head back to KOA to enjoy the heated pool and a campfire. There are sites for everyone: pull thrus/full hookups, pop-ups, tents and Cabins. Cable TV/Wi-Fi available at sites. Pool: Memorial Weekend - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 100 feet.

Very unfriendly management. I left an honest 2-star review on Google after our stay and the owner banned us from the park in retaliation. Poor customer service; Sub-par campground. There are better options in the Mackinaw City area.
Spent 3 nights here in mid-August in a full hookup site. This is a KOA Journey campground.
Pros are a very pleasant check-in, a well-stocked front office/convenience store, a clean flat campsite, a clean laundry, and great Wifi. Though we didn’t use them, they also had regular and e-bikes for rent, and a really nice pool and playground that attracted lots of children. Also, there’s a short trail leading into town so you needn’t face the parking situation there if you are in a motor home. It’s good exercise, too!
The only cons are minor car noise from the county road bounding the property, and all gravel roads and pads (a bit muddy on the day we arrived because of recent rains). There is no noise from the interstate.

The sites are the usual, a bit close to each other, but full hookups are great! Met everyone on staff over the 4 days and they were all delightful. Great phone signal and free wifi. Love hearing the low horns in the distance of the boats on the lake. Very pet friendly area - especially Mackinac island, and the koa is a stop on the sheplers ferry bus route, so that's nice and easy. There's an international dark sky site nearby where you can see more stars than ever. If you have extra days pop up to Taquemenon falls in The UP. Its magical!

Nicely maintained but spaces are tight. I got an end space & it faced the nature trail and pine/birch forest. It was lovely. Nice small pool & clean laundry facilities.

First trip to Mackinaw Island, free shuttle to the ferries picks you up at the KOA. Camp and facilities are clean and well maintained. Full hook ups, level site, cable TV and very strong WiFi. Near I-75 but quite. Owners are very proud of their campground and it shows. Paved bike path to Mackinaw City near the campground.

So much positive about this KOA: start with the fantastic husband wife team hosts , they are simply great to work with. Decent wooded sites , really nice bike/walking trail that takes you to town And a great little dog park - about 10-15 mins in a bike, free
Shuttle to ferry and decent amenities. We would come back for sure Only
Downside is the park could use a little sprucing up and WiFi’ was down during our stay. Overall great stay

Sites are nice size for a KOA. Very friendly. Quiet, nice and dark at night. Nice mature trees for shade when needed. Usually avoid KOA's but this was quite nice.

We have a handful of KOA’s we like and this one has been added to the list. We camped here for 6 nights while in the area and were so impressed with how nice the staff was and loved the cozy feel of this campground.

This is a lovely, shaded campground on the edge of town. We had a narrow, mostly level, dirt site, with 50 amp FHUs. Everything worked well and was easy to access. Like most KOAs the signage to and inside the park is great. Interior roads are dirt but easy to navigate in the largest rigs. Swimming pool, playground, showers and restrooms. Rental bikes and shuttle to Shelbys Ferry for Mackinac Island. No satellite access but they do have cable. Some sites have concrete patios and furniture. All have picnic table and fire ring (although the sites are really too close for having a fire without smoking out your neighbor). The park WiFi was fast and consistent (we never stream when on park wifi).
The owners and staff are wonderful here, before and during check-in, as well as throughout your stay. Where else do you get a text that the store is closing in 30 minutes and do you need ice or firewood delivered? So it's really a bummer that while we were here it was sooooo noisy! A dozen motorcycles who were in and out and in and out all day and up to quiet time. Kids screaming at the top of their lungs (and I love that kids are getting outdoors and having a good time). But every night at 9:55 the switch was flipped and it was completely quiet all night (no road noise, no trains, etc)!
We'd stay here again.
