Car Ferry across the Susquehanna River. They use the original historic Ferry Boats. Beautiful slow trip across a wildlife filled scenic river. The Millersburg Ferry Boat Association is a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit Corporation for the purpose of owning and operating historical ferry boats on the Susquehanna River, between the Borough of Millersburg and the Ferryboat Campsites on the West Shore of the Susquehanna River. To provide educational opportunities to riders of the Ferry boat, and to provide education and historical information to the public regarding the operation of ferry boats along the Susquehanna River in order to preserve the history of this now unique Paddle Wheel Ferry, and to train, in accordance with the U.S. Coast Guard approved course of study, Ferry Boat Captains for Licensing by the Coast Guard. erry service is available from May through mid October. Before June 1st and after Labor Day, we run weekends and holidays only, with the exception of private charters. Beginning June 1, we operate 7 days per week through Labor Day. Weekdays operating hours are 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Weekend and holiday hours are 9:00 a.m. until dusk. We do not run on a set schedule, but as traffic warrants and water levels allow also as per wind and weather conditions. If you get to the landing and the boat is not approaching, there will be a door on either side of the river. These doors should be turned to face the river, the captain of the ferry upon seeing the open door will return for you. Estimated travel time is 15 to 25 mintues each way and varies depending upon water levels.
