“art, history, and at no cost”
Established in 1982, the Knights of Columbus Museum, Inc. is a nonprofit institution serving the educational interests of the general public through periodic exhibitions of artwork and related content. Located in New Haven, Conn., where the Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882, it also serves as an archive, repository, and gallery for documents and artifacts pertaining to the Catholic fraternal organization’s foundation, history and activities. The Museum features world-class exhibitions of artwork and history, particularly those representing the heritage of Catholicism. It also maintains a permanent gallery of the K of C’s annals, as well as one dedicated to its founder (and sainthood candidate), Father Michael J. McGivney (1852-1890). Its permanent collections of Christopher Columbus and papal memorabilia are also on regular exhibition.
Reviews
Today we visited the Knights Of Columbus museum in New Haven, CT. My 3 friends and another family of 7 were given an impromptu tour by Gina Wallace.
It was phenomenal! She was dynamic and gave us so much interesting information in a short time. She also answered questions and told stories that we would have not heard otherwise. Initially we were a little disappointed because the lecturer that had been scheduled had been unable to come because of the weather. As it turned out , it was such a wonderful experience
that we couldn't have been happier. John Erickson who was another tour guide
also helped to make our visit memorable. This museum is well worth the trip. We would recommend it to everyone! Thank you
