“a relaxing waterfront resort”
Doe Bay Resort has got something for every level of outdoorsy-ness that you could desire, from cozy and accommodating cabins to bare bones campsites, and everything in between. They have tons of cabins that all feature different ammenities-- kitchenettes, decks, lakeside views, pet-friendly capabilities, bathrooms, cozy beds... basically, the works. If you think you're ready for something a little more rustic but don't want to set up a tent (seriously, who could blame you?) then look into a yurt or dome. A yurt is a large tent on a wooden platform, and a dome is a little sturdier (and has windows!). They all feature beds, but no running water, so you get the pleasant experience of a sunrise walk through the woods to use the bathroom. Plus, the yurts and domes have some pretty prime real estate-- there's one right on the beach, and another on a cliff overlooking the water! And then there are the campsites, all of which were selected for their superb views, and allow you to get comfortable in a way that only camping allows. Plus, they have enchanting names like "Baer's Lair" and "Watersong" and "Doe Bed". And since the resort is on a peninsula located on an island out in the Pacific Ocean, you're guaranteed stunning scenery all around. Of course, you can always take your visit to the next level with a stay in the treehouse. Featured on DIY's The Treehouse Guys, the treetop cabin sleeps four in its two bedrooms, and even has a sitting room and glorious electricity. They're working on getting plumbing in it as well, so for the time being you'll have to hoof it a whole 200 yards to get to the lav. Come for the whimsy, stay for the views from the wraparound deck! If you went with a campsite, you have the option to book a massage to work out the weird cricks in your neck from sleeping on the ground. Yep, that's right... they've got massages! The resort also features charming soaking pools and a sauna for optimal relaxation. They also offer yoga, a library with breathtaking views, and a communal fire ring for s'mores making and storytelling. Plus, there's hiking and kayaking galore, particularly at Moran State Park. But one of the resort's biggest draws is their cafe. While most camping spot could probably get away with serving just about anything, since just about everything is better than your average campfire meal of hot dogs and marshmallows, Doe Bay has become well-known for their outstanding breakfasts and dinners. The menu changes daily, and always features produce from their onsite organic garden as well as regional seafood and other locally-sourced ingredients. Plus, craft cocktails. Need I say more?" -Roadtrippers Many say, "Doe Bay is Magical." We make no such claim, but we are a relaxing waterfront resort on over thirty-eight acres on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands, with houses, rustic cabins, yurts, a hostel and campsites available for your enjoyment. Relax, Dream, Meditate. Enjoy our solitude or time with your friends. Hike our hills and walk our beaches and end your day in the Doe Bay Spa. If you are hungry… It is no secret anymore. The Doe Bay Café and the Doe Bay Garden create gourmet healthy fresh meals that are getting national attention.
