“offering the atmosphere of the by-gone Victorian era”
This nearly 100 yr. old home offers the atmosphere of the by-gone Victorian era with its many antiques. We offer a private escape tucked away in the heart of the country for adults. To maintain a peaceful distraction free atmosphere, we have no accommodations for children. We are just off scenic by-way 11, well worth the short drive. Although we do not reside at the B&B, our home is just a shout away in case we are needed. This arrangement provides our guests with their own space as us with ours. You will receive a warm welcome along with tasty snacks and beverages when you check in between 4 & 6 p.m. The Shepherds' Inn was established in 1996. It was the birthplace and childhood home of the owner Don. The Innkeepers live just across the road so our guests have all the privacy they want. If they want to visit, we are there for them, too. A tree lined drive leads to the 1 1/2 story house nestled on a tree covered hill. Guests approaching the house see a front porch with table and chairs awaiting someone to sit and enjoy the quiet countryside. Through the front door is the elegantly decorated parlor full of antique furniture. Modern conveniences such as full package satellite TV,VCR and DVD are there for everyones enjoyment. The dining room is where a candlelight breakfast is elegantly served using linen napkins on a lace covered table, heirloom silverware and attractive dinnerware. You will not have to cook or clean up the kitchen at our facility. Beware of lodging places who claim to be a B&B but you do your own cooking. Breakfast is always complimentary and served with a smile. In the corner of the room our stand-in butler "Mario" holds snacks during the evening hours. Hot and cold beverages are available 24/7. A 1913 pump organ is in the room to be played by those so talented or a 1913 Victrola complete with antique records.
