This was seriously the quietest campground stay we have ever had, and were so thankful given how many noisy places we have been! The amenities were top notch too from the shop to the smokehouse with the great staff. The short walk along the river into town and to the hot springs was super convenient. We were in a pop up and there is bear activity so we were very careful to follow the rules, it is active bear country tho!

We stayed 5 nights in site 63. We had plenty of room since we don’t have any slide outs. Our rig for perfect and we had plenty of room to hangout outside without being in our neighbors trailer. I enjoyed the premium riverfront sites because we had room. The other sections looked tight. The restaurant “The Smokehouse” was good for breakfast and dinner. The laundry used quarters and was very clean. The washer and driers seemed to be new and well taken care of. The restrooms were clean. I didn’t use the showers so I can’t review. The campground was well kept and the owners were kind and helpful. The views were gorgeous. It would be nice to have a designated area for the pups but I understand that the River walk trail is behind the campground. We will definitely come back to the campground.

We stayed at this RV park for four nights in September along a river site.
We loved that it was 1/3 mile to downtown Ouray (via the road or the bike trail, which runs right along the river sites). The staff were very friendly (a new family recently bought the campground and they are doing a great job). The facilities are VERY clean, and although some of it was still in transition (laundry room, game room, etc), they were still fully operational and clean. The campground has been updated with all new electrical and water lines recently and all worked great.
The downside was that it's basically a gravel parking lot with only a few tree spots on one side. (Although if you've been to Ouray, you know that the views right in town are enough to make you kind of forget about that.) They did mention that landscaping is in their future plans. The wifi wasn't great...but that wasn't a huge deal for us. This campground was primarily used by huge RV's while we were there...and ended up leaving a night early because it got very full. They found a camper for our site very easily so refunded our last night for us.
Each site has a picnic table, and they offer gas fire rings (gas is all they allow) for rent if needed. They mentioned we needed to lock up all food and not leave anything that looks like it may contain food out (beer coolers, etc) at night because bears come to the campground every night. We never saw them, and they didn't bother us at all...but something to consider.
This is a nice place to park it if you want to be close to town/hot springs, the park, close to the river, have access to a walking/biking trail. The views are beautiful and you must visit Box Canyon Falls on the other end of town if you go to Ouray. It was amazing!

This is a great park if you want to be very close to Ouray. The best thing going for the park is its location, just a mile from the main part of town. It's a quick drive to get there, or you can walk along the riverwalk trail which runs right along the RV Park. The park is also right along the Uncompahgre River. The views from the park are wonderful, though the tall mountains to the east mean that you won't see the sun until two hours later than official sunrise! The free WiFi worked quite well, Verizon worked well, but AT&T data was very slow. The park is on the expensive side (we paid $54/night after tax), and is mostly just a gravel lot with hookups with very little in the way of landscaping. It's also fairly noisy since it's right on Highway 550. We might stay again, but would try to find something a little less expensive nearby first.

(Note: we paid a bit more for a double spot along the river/trail)
RV Parks aren't really our thing, but when going to Ouray your only other options for a trailer are outside of town in Ridgeway or at the 4J Campground (RV Park) which is about a 1/3 of a mile closer to town than this park is. That distance is nominal and really shouldn't be an issue for anyone since there's a trail right next to the campground (and right behind our spot) that leads right into town. We used the bikes to come back and forth into town. Very convenient. The spots at 4J seemed much tighter together, busier and since we were only there for a few nights we didn't mind paying a little more to have the extra space (we opted for a double size spot that backed the river) and the incredibly clean amenities. The staff was SUPER friendly. There's WIFI which was surprisingly quick, they'll accept your packages at the main office, they offer propane fill-ups, there's a great laundry-room on site and a full service cafe/restaurant. At a minimum this is a great place to stop and get everything done while on the way to your next (remote) spot where you might not have any of these things available to you.
I really can't say a single negative thing about the place. Can it be a little less expensive? Sure. But I'd say it's worth the extra money to stay here as opposed to other place even if it is a tad bit more of a walk.

I loved this RV park because Anna and Bob were just a delight to deal with. Anna was patient with me as I called several times while we were trying to adjust our schedule to get to Ouray a day early. She also nicely called me back when she could see I was calling and getting their answering service. And they accepted a FEDX package for me as well.
You stay in this park to be walking distance to Ouray - the most gorgeous place in all of Colorado, by the way. The RV park is nice, all gravel sites, pretty level. There is a nice running/walking path that goes right by the park as well. We were not there long enough to use any of their amenities, but it is nice that they have a restaurant on site.
This park books up fast during the summer - they were already 50% booked for summer 2019.

It helps that this RV Park is located in our favorite little town in Colorado! If you haven't been to Ouray, you MUST go! It's called the "Switzerland of America" for good reason.
The RV Park is located within a short walk to the hot springs and town. There is a safe, off-road trail along the river to walk into town.
The river alongside the park is excellent for letting the dogs go for a swim which we did daily.
The trail along the river is also great for walking the dogs, taking a walk and enjoying the views.
The park is all gravel and seemed to be recently topped off with fresh gravel soon before we arrived. We were in a pull-thru site not along the river (but we reserved that for next year).
The site was plenty long for our 45 foot motorhome and trailer without having to disconnect.
We parked our Jeep alongside the RV also, so the sites are quite roomy.
The onsite café offers breakfast and dinner which we visited quite often and the food was great and very reasonably priced.
The owners and workers are all incredibly friendly and helpful.
The park is extremely clean and well-maintained.
We had no issues with any of the utilities and everything worked just great.
Our site required very little leveling despite being on gravel.
There is a little bit of traffic noise, but the speed limit there is slow so it's not too bothersome.

Dan & Jaclyn are world travelers, having kicked the dirt in over 100 countries and sailed within all 7 seas. Currently, we are full-time, location independent, perpetual travelers, roaming around North America.
We have chosen the Ouray Campground due to its proximity to Telluride Ski Resort closing weekend festivities and the towns of both Telluride and Ouray.
Its likely to be crazy to read this, although of all the countries we have visited throughout the world and the experiences we have had within them and the relationships we have managed to create, the town of Telluride is one of our Top 56 Most Beautiful Locations we have visited. I know..... I know..... But we firmly stand behind our decision.
Now, back to why you are reading here...
WHAT OTHERS ARE LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE
Upon pulling into this particular campground, I found myself a bit confused. the location is basically an RV Park on a gravel parking lot. Sure, they have the typical 30/50 amp services, along with water and sewer, a picnic table, fire pit and our AT& T was more than adequate without boost. Yes, they have clean bathhouses, laundry facilities and even an on-site diner, but its still a parking lot?
Confused at why this location has such high reviews online with favorable write-ups. That said, because of the reviews we chose to pass on other camping options and now I was regretting it. Thinking about pulling right around handout, it was our guest that said, lets just stay here for a couple days and then if still unhappy, we can relocate.
We backed our BiG RiG into a river backed spot, dropped the levelers and opened the slides. I then exited the BiG RiG and it was then it all came together.
SPECIAL EXPERIENCE
Upon steppingjutside the crisp mountain winds were blowing through the valley, although not so strong that it overpowered the sounds of the rushing river only feet away. To step outside, your eyes were overpowered by the very dramatic, incredibly red rock cliffs, towering over the BiG RiG.
During our stay, every day being reminded why this place is so highly rated. We enjoyed falling asleep the rushing water sounds, waking to the grazing of deer tour BiG RiG doorstep and the sites of both fox and bear on property did not hurt our experience ;)
Now, no longer feeling confused but rather feeling grateful. Grateful we had not completely judged a gook by its cover. Had I pulled around an right back out, we would be no closer to understanding that magic that is Ouray RV Park and why it is so highly rated.

The Ouray RV Park is perfect for the bigger rigs. It offers plenty of space with plenty of pull thru sites as well as back-in sites along the river walking path. It is a large gravel lot with full hookups that fronts the Uncompahgre River. Site 1-27 are smaller but have more trees.
It is a quick walk (maybe 1/2 mile) down the river trail into town.
They have a nice cafe right there at the park. The showers/restrooms were very clean
We stayed the week of the 4th of July and made reservations many months before for the a full week. We had to leave 3 days early, but on our way home I got an email from the manager saying they had someone wanting to stay at our site and that she had refunded us those 3 days. They did not have to do that and could have easily double booked our site and made more money, but they didn't. I really appreciated their honesty. All of the staff were great people. Will stay again for sure.

This is a really great RV park, it's a 100% gravel lot that with the Uncompahgre river adjacent, so the "noise" is the river. There is a nice 2 mile walking loop that can be taken into Ouray. The RV Park has a great Cafe & Steakhouse, due to COVID they were only serving breakfast at the time, but we've had the prime rib dinner before and it is worth every penny! The amenities a solid, we didn't use the Wifi just use our phones a hot spots. This is definitely a go-to place for us to stay in the future.
