It was quiet because it was October. A few pull thru's in the middle of cottages. Pull through sites were long enough but very close to each other. Picnic tables were right beside sewage lines. Easy access and away from route 16 where all the tourism is. We paid for cable and then realized wifi was free and we had Prime, Hulu and Netflix. People were very knowledgable and friendly.

We are back! After a four month hiatus from camping, we are on the road again and ready to judge YOUR CAMPGROUND! We stayed only one night, arriving after dark, in the off season. Nonetheless we found the campground to be cozy and inviting. Clean bathroom, great shower. I had great customer service over the phone when I called ahead to reserve a spot. (Only a few sites are available year round.) It is situated aside a small lake, near Rapid City. Not really "out in nature" but definitely not in the city. Some walking/biking trails adjacent. Laundry on site - a bit pricey but adequate. Sites are quite close together, as is typical in private parks near cities. If it had been more crowded, we likely would have lowered our rating/s.
As an aside, we were in SD to get our new drivers licenses via the My South Dakota nomad residency program. NOTE: The licensing offices throughout the state have limited hours/days so be sure to plan in advance as we ended up having to stay a few extra days.

Pretty quiet and located next to what appears to be a large city park, just wish that was the view. Place is clean, organized and kinda old-school. Sites are a little tight for me, like to sit outside and not hear every movement of my neighbor. That said great spot to then launch into the black hills if you can’t make it farther. Lots of cottages too. Nice playground for the kids. The actual number of RV sites can’t be much over 25 or so...which is appealing to me, so even though it it is tight, it I s small and enjoyable.

Lake Park's customer service impressed me. Before we left home, the park called twice. The first time was to move us to a larger site because they thought our Class C wouldn't fit the one I'd picked and, second, to move us into a FHU site when it became available.
The RV park is quiet, clean and well groomed -- near a beautiful city park with a large lake and nice residential area. The sites are narrow, but well done. Lots of trees were around for shade (It was hot!), and it just seemed peaceful.
It has a Laundry Room, but no central bathrooms that I found.
We deserve "I survived camping during the Sturgis Bike Rally" T-shirts. We were the only RVers in the campground without a motorcycle or two. It was fun to see the biker community close up and the fun they had with each other. Except for the bikes coming and going, they were considerately quiet.
We used it as a base to be see sights in Rapid City. Just up the hill from the RV park is Chapel in the Hills, a stop not to miss. Lake Park could also be a base for seeing Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, and other Black Hills sights.

Shower and bathroom facilities were exceptionally clean. Laundry was also very nice and clean. They clean facilities every day from 11:00-12:30. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Campsites we’re pretty tight, but that’s expected in an RV park. We had a pull through, shaded site which was nice, but was close to the road so had more traffic noise than we would have liked. Overall a very nice campground.

I really wanted to rate this park lower due to very tight sites, very low tree limbs, and unnecessary (but apparently mandatory) “help” provided by office personnel during backing in. (Seems they did that for everyone.) But, the park is located right on the West edge of Rapid City, providing great access to all Black Hills area attractions, restaurants and shopping. The sites were level, and grounds, bathrooms and showers were very clean and well maintained. A little expensive for what it is. Because of location and overall condition, I give them 4-stars, but probably won’t stay here again; there are better options in the Black Hills area.

We stayed further out into the Hills (Whispering Pines) to visit friends who live west of Rapid last time, so chose Lake Park in-town this time. Both options are expensive and crowded together but I'd stay here again over the other. The surrounding park is quite scenic. The sites are tight in the park due to rigs being so much larger than when it was originally laid out. Showers were clean and laundry worked well. Not much privacy, but it ticked all the boxes.Site 12 was not level for our 20' van. Super fast wifi provided by park and good Verizon bars.

This location is great, very convenient to Rapid City and the Black Hills. The sites are long and pull-through, shaded, with picnic table. First time I’ve been in a park where you share the power/water with neighboring unit. They tried to put us in one of these, and we had to pull all the way to front of site which was still a long >20ft sewer run. Then the light pole was just outside our door which was an obstacle once the slides were out, the light shone in the bedroom windows, and the picnic table was at the very back of the RV. This narrow lot just was not comfortable for a 5 night stay. On the positive side, it only took a phone call and they changed our site.
I would definitely stay here again, just not in site 40!

This place is quite nice. It has tree lined parking and is adjacent to a lake. The showers are clean, and there's a laundry for you you to use. Everything is well kept, and the person I spoke with was friendly and accommodating. Also easy in and out.
