Historic Treasure
Our Take
Frank Lloyd Wright is an interesting figure; on one hand, he's a flippin' genius. He was never a licensed architect and was completely self taught. On the other hand he was an egomaniac, although the tours here play it down. The tours are still very informative; you’ll learn that this gorgeous building was originally built as a camp, with no running water or electricity and only canvas covering the buildings. There are so many details here that the tours make sure to highlight, like the petroglyphs he found on the property and incorporated into his design for the space, so it’s worth it to pay attention when visiting.
