“go anywhere. stay here.”
The Howard Johnson Inn is located in the heart of St. Augustine’s beautiful downtown Historic District, directly in front of the world renowned Ponce de Leon’s “Fountain of Youth”. It is the only hotel included on the route of the Old Town Trolleys and the sightseeing trains as they cruise through our grounds to view magnificent “Old Senator”, a 600 years-old live Oak tree, which stands as a silent witness to Don Juan Ponce de Leon’s discovery and naming of the continent “La Florida” in 1513 Many of St. Augustine’s most popular attractions and finest restaurants are but a few steps away, including Mission of Nombre de Dios, the site where Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles, founded our fair city in 1565; The Old Jail; Florida Heritage Museum; and the Planetarium at the Fountain of Youth. Several two, three and four diamond restaurants are also within one mile radius.
