“White sand beaches and crystal clear water”
Overview Meeks Bay Campground is situated between two popular California State Parks, adjacent to the beautiful Lake Tahoe. The crystal clear waters and sandy beaches, just steps away from the campground, provide a recreational escape for outdoor enthusiasts.Recreation The 22-mile-long Lake Tahoe provides sunbathing, swimming, boating and water skiing. Anglers can look forward to healthy fish populations of kokanee salmon and mackinaw, rainbow and brown trout.Facilities The campground offers multiple single-family campsites for tent and RV camping. Some sites offer sweeping views of the lake. All sites are close together, some even sharing parking spurs, offering limited privacy between sites. Each site is equipped with tables, campfire rings and grills. Accessible flush toilets and drinking water are provided. Food storage lockers are available at each site in order to keep food packed away from a variety of wildlife. Natural Features Meeks Bay is in the Lake Tahoe Basin, located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe at a 6,225-foot elevation. Nearby Attractions A couple of state parks are also on the perimeter of Lake Tahoe, southeast of the campground. South Lake Tahoe is the nearest town, about 10 miles away.

We booked our stay months ago so we could take our RV and attend a Conference, and read more about Meeks Bay Resort afterward. We were completely happy with the place. "Mark" approached us as we backed into our generous spot. He was very friendly and happy to see us. He said we were the first campers of the season.
Our campsite (RV5) was long enough for our 27 foot trailer and truck. The hook ups worked nicely. There are separate 50A, 30A, and 15A plugs.
Even though some of the Meeks RV spots are close to the road, traffic noise was not a problem. A 5 minute walk to the lake is well worth it. The views are beautiful.
Since returning from our trip, I've looked at the reservation system for the RV sites, Tent camping, and Cabins and the resort appears to be full up through the summer.
Note: the Campendium statistics show the "Max Length: 20 ft". This is incorrect. As written in my review, RV5 was at least 60 feet long.

Very courteous staff. Didn't visit the restrooms so can't comment on those. We have a 30 foot TT with a pickup truck TV and both fit easily in our site. Only downside of our visit here was the fee. We did visit at the end of prime season and I understand the rates are significantly lower during the off season. The sand beach was beautiful although the water was to cold for us to swim. There are lots of really good hiking trails nearby and it's close to Tahoe City. Level site with full hookups.Limited AT&T service near the beach. No service at our site.
