“so cool, it's glacial”
White Lake State Park offers some of the best swimming in the White Mountain region. The park lies along the shore of White Lake, which is an example of a typical glacial lake. During the Ice Age, glacial ice was buried beneath glacial till or debris. When the ice melted, a depression was created which gradually filled with water. Guests are welcome to enjoy a leisurely walk around the lake on a well-maintained foot path while looking for loons or signs of beaver activity, or to try their hand at the good trout fishing the lake provides. The park offers a day-use area, group areas, and a campground with family campsites as well as youth group sites. White Lake State Park is open full-time for the season on May 25, 2013. The park open weekends from September 2, 2013 through October 14, 2013. Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to Sunset, Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 am to Sunset. *Operating dates and times are subject to change without notice. For up to date hours, please call the park directly.

I’ve stayed here several times over the years, always in Area 1, but area 2 has some waterfront sites. Staff is amazing, bathrooms are clean. Ground cover is dirt so in the rain it can get a touch muddy.

Our family comes here every year, both for camping as well as just day trips for the beach.
The campground is “primitive”, but they have a dump station on the way out. If you have anything bigger than a large pop-up, you may want to stick to the sites on the perimeter roads of each section. The inner roads are very narrow with huge old pine trees to navigate through. Though I did bring my 26’ TT to site 8 area 1 once. Very tight fit.
The beach on White Lake is one of the best lake beaches you’ll ever see. Beautiful sandy Lake bottom and no deep drop-offs. The beach area itself has trees for shade, picnic tables, and charcoal grills. As well as two well-kept playgrounds and a small store with beach stuff and treats
This is a very popular campground and beach, so plan ahead.

Wow, we were really impressed by this state park. We usually don’t tend to stay at campgrounds with absolutely no hook-ups but this one is worth it 100%.
The sites are spacious and clean. Our site was located right next to the path to the lake which was the highlight of the park.
The water of the lake was crystal clear and so beautiful, not something you’d expect to see in the northeast.
Would definitely recommend camping here, and we hope to make it back someday!

Nice campground, beautiful lake, nice sites, friendly staff. Cell service. Only down side was the water seemed very irony or rusty. Wouldn't suggest consuming it.
