Perched on Oʻahu’s southeastern tip, Makapuʻu Point treats you to sweeping ocean views, rugged cliffs, and a striking lighthouse perched above the waves. The paved trail to the top is steady and manageable, making it a popular walk for families, joggers, and casual hikers alike. Along the way, you can spot tide pools below, offshore islets, and during winter, the chance to see humpback whales breaching in the distance. At the summit, the panorama stretches from the Windward Coast to Koko Head, with turquoise waters crashing dramatically against the rocky shoreline.

Nice paved walking trail. Saw a bunch of whales on the way up. Parking is fairly sparse but still doable. Would do it again.
