John Bryan is the most scenic state park in western Ohio. The 752-acre park contains a remarkable limestone gorge cut by the Little Miami River which is designated as a state and national scenic river.
We stayed for three nights, mid-week. VERY quiet, neat and clean. John Bryan Park directly connects to Clifton Gorge Nature Preserve so there are quite a few beautiful hiking trails along the Little Miami River.

We stayed here for 2 nights in late November 2019 and paid the off-season rate for an electric site. During winter, all sites are walk-in only and self-registration. It's worth nothing that the road that enters the state park and campground is not maintained during the winter and the water is all shut off (the dump station was open, however).
Our site was fairly level and very quiet at this time of year. We enjoyed the beautiful nature trails, which made for some excellent hiking and picture taking. This is a great state park overall.

This was a difficult stay, partially due to Covid and resulting lack of staff. Once entering the Park, there is no check in, and there are no directions to the campground. There are pit toilets only and no showers, and no directions to direct you to the water supply. Shade is scarce. That being said, the grass is mowed; the campsites are level and large, and, for pit toilets, they are clean and well maintained. We could only get two nights in two campsites instead of one campsite for four nights, but neither of the two campsites we used were occupied for the nights we were in the others. There was no park staff, and the camp host could not help us change our sites. We chose this campground for its proximity to the Little Miami Scenic Trail for bike riding, as did several others, so it would have been helpful for the Park to have some signage or maps showing how to get to the Trail, but they didn't. We would stay there again now that we know what to expect just because of the bike riding, but no other reason.

We stayed in our vintage cruiser for 1 night. Backing into the site was easy. Only electric sites but the water and waste station are easily accessible. Ample room at the site to spread out. Dog friendly. John is a great volunteer camp host.

Come on Ohio, turn on the hot water in your rest rooms and showers. I've always loved this park for its trails and its proximity to the fun town of Yellow Springs. The sites are comfortable though not really isolated from one another. As someone noted, the camping area feels more like a city park than a wooded area.
The restrooms/showers were clean and well maintained. My only complaint was the lack of hot or even warm water in the showers and sinks. It was 40degrees there when we stayed.

Previous review noted that the hot water was not on. It's is on now and all the very hot water you could ever want for your shower. And...it's a brand new shower house..one of the best we have experienced in years of camping. Nice mountain bike trails in the park. A few miles to the Little Miami Valley Scenic Bike Trail...also worthy. Fast 5G data on AT&T.

Our campsite was paved and fairly level for our 33’ Grand Design 5th wheel. We enjoyed the 50 amp electric. Potable water is at the entrance. There are gray water dumps around the campground (likely due to the number of tent sites) and a regular dump station as well. We did not use the restrooms but the building looks brand new. The internal roads are a bit narrow. Overall, it is a very scenic area with large mature trees. We were in the area mainly to see the Air force Museum and it was an easy 20ish minute drive.
